SAFETY PROTOCOLS

PRESCHOOL, K-5TH & SUMMER DAY CAMP

The Y has been running childcare, preschool and camp continuously since the pandemic began, and we’ve learned a thing or two about running programs for kids during this challenging time. Our staff work closely with public health experts to develop practices that minimize risk and maximize fun.

The YMCA of Northern Colorado will follow all safety expectations that align with each school district, local and state health departments and the CDC to ensure that safety is paramount at all of our sites.

Guidance and regulations change often based on CDC and CDPHE requirements so please check back regularly.

  • Following the CDC’s guidance, the YMCA of Northern Colorado will no longer require individuals to wear masks inside our licensed childcare programs.
  • We are following state and local health department guidance on temperature threshold and symptom tracking. We will be on heightened alert for symptoms and enacting a more stringent sick policy to avoid having sick children or children with potential contagious symptoms in the program.
  • Per health department requirement, our staff members are frequently cleaning and disinfecting all spaces and objects that are used during programs.
  • Increased frequency of handwashing for staff and children throughout the day.

If you have been asked to quarantine because of possible exposure to COVID, do not enter our buildings or take part in Y programs. We appreciate your compliance with this very important policy.
